2009 Intermediate Softball League Champions

Burlington Intermediate Softball League Rockies are CHAMPIONS !!
Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 at Rahanis Park

The Burlington Rockies defeated the Spinners with a final score of 6 - 5 in a thriller of a game. The Spinners rallied for three runs in the top of the 6th inning to tie the game but the fighting Rockies came up with the game winning run in the bottom of the 6th inning to give the Rockies the Intermediate Softball League Championship.

Both teams played incredible defense highlighted by a triple play by the Spinner's Nikki Gass. This is believed to be the first triple play in Intermediate Softball history.

The Rockies finished the 2009 Season with a record of 12-2-1, while the Spinners finished their season with a 12-5 record.

Congratulations to both teams on their outstanding seasons and for playing such an exciting game.

Thanks to Matt Therault for announcing and providing the broadcast as the girls really enjoyed a spectacular night at the ball park.
